Since 1987, the Fillmore County Historical Society Museum and Library have been housed in the former Fountain Elementary school. The FCHS museum traces the cultural history of Fillmore county as one of Minnesota’s first settled areas. It is also home to the Pleasant Dale-Watson Schoolhouse, one of southern Minnesota’s largest collection of antique agricultural equipment and the world-famous Pietenpol experimental airplanes. The Almeda and Emery Eickoff Genealogy Library is a treasure trove of family research resources, many of which have been indexed by surname. Due to our proximity to the Root River State Bike Trail we are even home to the Trail Towns Bike Share program!

There's something for everyone at the History Center!
